Hunter School of Performing Arts

Woolworths Supermarket Wadalba

D&C of 3600m² of trading floor space in a retail precinct project that included a new Woolworths supermarket, BWS retail outlet, café tenancy and 185-car adjacent carpark. Loading and storage facilities were constructed with acoustic attenuation to alleviate disruption to the adjacent school. The precinct also included staff administration offices, amenities and kitchen/dining facilities.

Coffs Harbour Justice Precinct

Construct Only delivery of a four-storey courthouse including two local courts, two district courts and multipurpose rooms with sophisticated audio-visual tech to be used for tribunal hearings and mediations. Construction also included a Police Station with modern forensic facilities, conference rooms and office space, fitness area, cells complex, loading dock, parking and landscaping.

Lee Wharf, Newcastle

Lee Wharf is a vibrant mix of residential, commercial, retail, restaurants and public open spaces situated on Newcastle Harbour. RCC delivered all 3 stages of the project across 2 multi-storey buildings and 1 single storey building over a common basement carpark which provided off-street parking for 175 vehicles.

  • Stage 1 – Completed in July 2006 and consisted of 123 residential waterfront apartments ranging in building heights of four to nine levels over two basement carparks, cafes, restaurants, a floating pontoon, retail stores and a 4,800m2 landscaped public domain.
  • Stage 2 – 7 storeys containing 76 residential units to be run as a Chiefly Hotel with 500m2 of retail space.
  • Stage 3 – Three buildings consisting of 70 apartments and 12 commercial suites. One of the buildings includes 11 ground floor retail/restaurant spaces, a single-story glass pavilion and the restoration of the former Lee Wharf C railway storage shed which houses a boutique hotel and restaurant.

Watt St Commercial

Watt Street Commercial consisted of the refurbishment to the existing David Maddison research facility into 6 levels of open plan, Green Star and 4.5 Star Nabers Rated, A Grade Commercial office space. The project also includes a 200 seat lecture theatre, secure on-site parking, landscaped courtyard and entry foyer cafe featuring a living green wall. (Gross Floor Area of approx 8600m2).

Major demolition works were undertaken to clear out all of the existing partitions before work began on creating this prime commercial centre. The building received:

  • Brand new façade cladding, sunshade louvres and glazing all round;
  • Four large terraces were given a major overhaul including tiling and glazed balustrades;
  • The iconic existing curved concrete facades were given new life through pressure cleaning and painting as well as the external concrete columns;
  • Additions of a café space, large atrium, vertical garden, timber feature wall, carefully selected tiles, architecturally designed landscaping and all new footpaths to surrounds.
  • The electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, fire, security and lift services were completely re-designed and installed new, to comply with greenstar regulations.
  • Extension of the southern end of the building from Level 4 to roof.
