Kokoda Residences at Waitara is a vibrant, retirement community located in Sydney’s upper North Shore.

Vasey Communities has dedicated this unique new retirement residences to a defining place in Australia’s time, Kokoda. Vasey Communities founder Mrs Jessie Vasey was the war widow of Major General George Vasey, who commanded the Australian troops during World War II battles on the Kokoda trail.

Once completed, Kokoda Residences will be a 12-storey vertical retirement community with choice of 1,2 and 3-bedroom and penthouse apartments boasting light and refreshingly open layouts and superior aspects. The community will also include central gardens, bar, lounge, gym, library facilities and many more communal amenities.

RCC completed two projects for UCA within an existing and operating Aged Care facility:

Care House B – 36 bed RACF single storey facility

Community Centre Main Works – 3 storey concrete framed building with a Community Centre on ground floor for the entire Aged Care facility plus two levels above for a 40 bed RACF. The community centre includes an ILU Village Club, Café, Hairdressers, Treatment Rooms, Gym, Café, Chapel, Multipurpose Rooms, and Administration offices.

The project comprises of a new boutique retirement village in Canberra on the old Higgins Primary School site, with Stage 1 delivering 21 ILU (Independent Living Unit) townhouses with external landscaping works​.

RCC remain on site to complete Stage 2 which includes 25 ILU Townhouses with external landscaping & a separate 2 x storey Clubhouse.

Once all 3 stages are completed, the retirement village will feature 46 single storey townhouses and 54 ILU apartments split across two buildings (one four storeys and the other five storeys) offering basement carparking, community club house and landscaped surrounds.

Uniting Gerringong

Uniting Gerringong is a new 100 bed RACF and community centre on NSW’s south coast at Uniting Mayflower Village in Gerringong.

It is stage 1 in the overall redevelopment of the village, which renew both the care facilities and the independent living units in the following stages.

The 100 beds is a mixture of 75 single rooms, 10 double rooms and 5 accessible rooms over 5 households from ground to L2.

Each household has 20 beds and shares clinical BOH, community kitchen, dining lounge and sitting rooms along with outside access via balconies or courtyard.

The ground floor household is dedicated memory support with a dedicated stimulus courtyard. The community centre combines a new admin for the village with gym, activity rooms, chapel, hairdresser, treatment rooms and café. Ground floor also contains a single and family suite for the use of visiting family and friends. Basement contains staff facilities and communal BOH facilities for food deliveries, storage, maintenance, waste, clean and dirty linen.

Southern Cross Care Turramurra

The SCC Turramurra project includes the construction of a new Residential Aged Care Facility, and the demolition and removal of the old facilities. At the same time, the RCC team shall be refurbishing Huon Park House, a heritage-listed late-1800’s farmstead house on site as well as minor refurbishment of the existing on site Chapel.

On the grounds of the existing facility are protected blue-gum and iron-bark high-forest areas, all requiring protective exclusion zones throughout the project duration.

  • New 113-bed Residential Aged Care Facility over 3 levels
  • Fully operational commercial kitchen & serveries, commercial laundry and state-of-the-art resident and staff facilities
  • Refurbished and re-purposed heritage-listed Huon Park House, to include staff training rooms, meeting rooms, family rooms and an on-site café.

Bulli Hospital Aged Care Centre of Excellence

The works involved the design and construction of a 2 level, 60-suite Residential Aged Care Facility which is linked to a 60-bed inpatient hospital via an enclosed walkway. This unique facility is a joint public and private venture between Illawarra Retirement Trust (IRT) and the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD), each located in separate wings of the building:

  • The IRT component is situated on the West Wing and consists of a Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) incorporating residential care bedrooms as well as associated staff facilities.
  • The ISLHD operated component is located on the East Wing and consists of outpatient services, Ambulatory Care Services, and on-site Clinical Support Services including medical imaging, pathology and pharmacy spaces.

Blue Haven Bonaira – Aged Care Centre of Excellence
