RCC completed two projects for UCA within an existing and operating Aged Care facility:

Care House B – 36 bed RACF single storey facility

Community Centre Main Works – 3 storey concrete framed building with a Community Centre on ground floor for the entire Aged Care facility plus two levels above for a 40 bed RACF. The community centre includes an ILU Village Club, Café, Hairdressers, Treatment Rooms, Gym, Café, Chapel, Multipurpose Rooms, and Administration offices.

Design and construction of a new boutique retirement village in Canberra on the old Higgins Primary School site.

Richard Crookes Constructions are currently delivering Stage 1 of 3 which includes early civil works and the construction of 21 townhouses. Once completed, the retirement village will feature 48 single storey townhouses and 52 ILU apartments split across two buildings (one four storeys and the other five storeys) offering basement carparking, community club house and landscaped surrounds.

Uniting Gerringong

Uniting Gerringong is a new 100 bed RACF and community centre on NSW’s south coast at Uniting Mayflower Village in Gerringong.

It is stage 1 in the overall redevelopment of the village, which renew both the care facilities and the independent living units in the following stages.

The 100 beds is a mixture of 75 single rooms, 10 double rooms and 5 accessible rooms over 5 households from ground to L2.

Each household has 20 beds and shares clinical BOH, community kitchen, dining lounge and sitting rooms along with outside access via balconies or courtyard.

The ground floor household is dedicated memory support with a dedicated stimulus courtyard. The community centre combines a new admin for the village with gym, activity rooms, chapel, hairdresser, treatment rooms and café. Ground floor also contains a single and family suite for the use of visiting family and friends. Basement contains staff facilities and communal BOH facilities for food deliveries, storage, maintenance, waste, clean and dirty linen.

Southern Cross Care

The SCC Turramurra project includes the construction of a new Residential Aged Care Facility, and the demolition and removal of the old facilities. At the same time, the RCC team shall be refurbishing Huon Park House, a heritage-listed late-1800’s farmstead house on site as well as minor refurbishment of the existing on site Chapel.

On the grounds of the existing facility are protected blue-gum and iron-bark high-forest areas, all requiring protective exclusion zones throughout the project duration.

  • Fully operational commercial kitchen & serveries, commercial laundry and state-of-the-art resident and staff facilities

Bulli Hospital Aged Care Centre of Excellence

RCC has been engaged by Health Infrastructure for the establishment of an aged care centre of excellence at Bulli Hospital. Works within the project involve the refurbishment of the 60-bed aged care centre and the addition of 60 new aged care beds to the facility.

IRT will contribute funds to the project in a public-private partnership.

Blue Haven Bonaira – Aged Care Centre of Excellence

The design and construction to provide 134 aged care accommodation beds (RACF), 59 independent living apartments (ILUs), community hall and meeting room facilities.

The precinct also houses a community care administration service and the project involves the heritage restoration of Barroul House, containing a cafe / restaurant and community facilities.

Opal Blacktown

Design, construction and commissioning of 149 beds (137 rooms) over 5 stories, with associated demolition works, tree removal, car parking, landscaping and signage. The project will provide significant resources for aged care within the Blacktown area.

The design for the RACF had been based on the following fundamental facility requirements:

  • Ability to cater for high care residents, (with one dedicated dementia wing of up to 17 beds located on the Ground Floor)
  • Whole of life facility to be future-proofed to cater for the emerging high care market
  • Inclusion of domestic and non-institutional character, which is not standard for for high care residents, which reflects the current aged care trend of aging in place.

Terrey Hills Seniors Living Development
