The Dubbo Police Station consolidated all police functions within the Dubbo Local Command into two separate sites. The main new Police Station was built on the same site as the existing police station, adjacent to the heritage listed Dubbo City Court House. The Forensic and Radio Tech development involved the refurbishment of an existing heritage listed building, the removal of existing buildings on site and the addition of a new building to cater for the increasing needs of these specialist police officers. This project was split into three separate stages. Stage 1 is the construction of a temporary police station consisting four cell blocks to house up to 8 detainees.
Stage 2 was the Forensic / Radio building. This is a new single storey forensic building complete with laboratory type joinery. Works also include extensions to the existing radio building with police storage facilities and refurbishment of heritage house for existing police radio unit.
Stage 3 was the construction of the new four storey police station which includes a basement carpark. Works include a van dock, cell areas, general duties areas, detective offices and training areas.
