Works at the Integrated Mental Health Complex to begin in 2024

The first of its kind in NSW.

In partnership with Health Infrastructure, Western Sydney Local Health District, TSA Riley, and Jacobs – Sydney, we are thrilled to have been awarded the main works contract for the Integrated Mental Health Complex (IMHC) at Westmead Health Precinct. Once built, the state-of-the-art facility will be the largest of its kind in NSW, designed to support recovery in a welcoming, safe, and person-centered environment.

Elliot Hicks, Construction Manager, reflected on RCC’s long-standing partnership with Health Infrastructure, “As a key health infrastructure delivery partner, we welcome the opportunity to deliver this addition to the Westmead campus – one that will positively impact the Western Sydney community.”

The new complex will include:

  • Acute mental health beds including beds for youth, adolescents, adults, older persons and people living with eating disorders
  • Mental health intensive care and high dependency units
  • A mental health assessment area
  • Sub and non-acute mental health beds
  • Multidisciplinary ambulatory and outpatient services.
  •  Early works for the new IMHC began in 2023 and RCC expects to begin work to construct the building in early 2025.
