Transforming four city blocks into an urban village, Stage 1 East End revitalises Newcastle CBD with residential, commercial, retail and cultural spaces shaping the city’s continued growth.

The 28,000sqm space includes 208-apartments across three nine-storey residential towers, a 104-key QT Hotel and hardscaping civic spaces.

A key piece of the precinct’s masterplan was re-interpreting the historic David Jones into QT Hotel – activating the street while preserving the facade’s heritage brickwork. Advanced propping maintained three heritage exteriors in a live construction environment, with no impact on programme.

“Newcastle East End sets a wonderful benchmark for how a collective of architects and local councils can work together to achieve development that is characterful, vibrant, viable and sustainable.”
