This 25,727sqm, two-storey distribution centre and administration facility sets a new benchmark for sustainability and efficiency in the Industrial sector. 6-Star Green Star Design and As-Built rating target.
Featuring a robust sustainability framework, ALDI – Light Horse Logistics Hub incorporates locally sourced CLT and glulam timber, reducing embodied carbon by 80%. Structural elements were prefabricated facilitating a streamlined construction process to reduce onsite waste. PV solar systems, 31 EV charging stations and smart building metering further reduce operational energy consumption by 60%.
A successful procurement strategy generated more than 1,200 jobs by engaging local trades and contractors. Programmatic efficiency is achieved with a direct bridge-link to the warehouse and unobstructed views to the truck hardstand and loading docks.
“It was important that the outdoor areas for each tenancy were meaningfully incorporated in the office design, achieved through opening up the external façade to engage with the beautifully landscaped courtyard, with seating areas and planting exposed to natural light – all while being surrounded by the natural timber element. The result creates a fusion of light, landscape and natural built form.”
