Enhancing and futureproofing health services
This state-of-the-art health and wellbeing precinct is a major component of the Gosford Hospital Expansion, providing local communities with vital health services and infrastructure. Delivered in three stages, including construction of a multi-storey carpark (Stage 1) and six-storey tower (Stage 2), and fitout of Central Coast Clinical School Research Institute (CCCSRI) (Stage 3).
Undertaken in a live hospital environment, strict noise, dust and dirt monitoring strategies were implemented to support safe and continuous operation of the adjoining hospital. A comprehensive traffic control plan was implemented to maintain emergency vehicle access throughout delivery.
A highly collaborative process with key government, health and education stakeholders ensured the CCCSRI fitout aligned with end-user requirements.
I can see a buzz of energy here in this building with some of our best clinicians from the local health district, university, research and clinical direction, education staff, all coming together and feeding off the energy of new ways of doing research, the new technologies, the new thinking around integrated models.
